MISP

Model for Estimating the Impact of Sources of Pollutants

MISP offers an alternative to the common hypothesis of perfect mixing between the mass flux emanating from the source and aquifer water below the source zone.

MISP allows several options for pollutant source behaviour:

The main characteristic of MISP, compared to analogous analytical models, is that it does not rely on the hypothesis of a " mixing layer " to estimate an aquifer concentration below the source zone. MISP combines, through convolution, a solution for vertical pollutant migration from the source to the water table, with a 3-D solution for migration in the aquifer from a horizontal plane source located at the water table.
