FLUOROS aims to examine the “state of the science” on fluorinated organic compounds in the environment, bringing together members of industry, academia and government.
The symposium program has been tentatively divided into 6 areas of focus or sessions: Environmental Fate and Transport, Analytical Chemistry and Monitoring, Remediation, Toxicology and Human Health Impacts/Epidemiology, Replacement Chemistries, and Risk Assessment and Policy. Sessions will run consecutively and will feature 2-3 invited speakers followed by a poster session. Invited speakers will be distinguished, world experts in their fields and will articulate the current state of knowledge of the “focus area” as well as identifying further research priorities and information gaps.
FLUOROS will emphasize a strong student presence. As such, students will receive a special, discounted registration fee and will be eligible for student travel awards.
