Introducing: Special Issue of Groundwater Based on the Presentations at MODFLOW and More 2017
The Organizing Committee for MODFLOW and More has some exciting news to share: We are happy to announce a Special Issue of Groundwater based upon the MODFLOW and More 2017 Conference! As a MODFLOW and More presenter, you are encouraged to submit a manuscript for this Groundwater special issue. The special issue will be in addition to the traditional MODFLOW and More Proceedings, for which the guidelines will be announced in the next couple of days. Any topic presented at the conference, either orally or as a poster, will be welcome for Groundwater manuscript submission.
The “Special Issue” will include a collection of approximately 10 to 15 articles that will comprise the entirety of the November/December 2017 issue of Groundwater. Manuscripts for this special issue must be formatted according to the Groundwater submission guidelines. Submissions for manuscripts must be emailed as an attachment as a single PDF to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject header “Groundwater Special Issue 2017”.
Instructions for Manuscript Submission
Please include a detailed cover letter addressed to the guest editors describing both why your submission should be included in the special issue and why it makes a contribution to Groundwater. Make sure to include figures and tables in the manuscript, have it double-spaced throughout, and have line numbering consecutive across pages, if needed. If you have online Supporting Information you must attach it as a separate file or, if too large for email, provide a download link. The deadline for submission is no later than June 12, 2017. Note that there will be zero flexibility for late submission of articles so that we can keep on schedule for the expedited review process.
Submissions will undergo an expedited review organized by the Guest Editors for this issue, Reed Maxwell, Matt Tonkin, and Alexis Navarre-Sitchler. Your manuscript must first pass initial quality review by the Guest Editors and then also pass an external peer review. This process is similar to the standard review process for Groundwater except that the turnaround times for reviews and revisions will only be 14 days instead of 28 days. Please be aware that submitting a manuscript for this special issue of Groundwater is no guarantee for publication, it must pass full peer review! You must also be prepared to respond quickly to a request for revisions – within 14 days.
To get you started on formatting and paper guidelines, an example manuscript is attached below, as well as a document describing the types of papers in Groundwater
If you have any further questions about the Special Issue, please feel free to email us at email@example.com.
