Social Activities Program
Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Being on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, the Golden area has a smorgasbord of fun activities to offer! We encourage our conference attendees to take to the hills on Wednesday afternoon during the conference to go out and explore the outdoors. Golden has many trailheads and tours, but plenty more outing opportunities lie outside the accesible reaches of town. Therefore, we are offering two different busses to take conference attendees either on a hiking trip at nearby Mt. Galbraith, or rafting down Clear Creek from nearby Idaho Springs.

Transportation to rafting or hiking will be provided free of charge, but attendees will be responsible for any other charges incurred (i.e. rafting). Please let us know below if you would be interested in either trip so we can make sure we have enough seats in the busses. Please note that rides will only be available to registered conference attendees and their guests.

To reserve your spot on the rafting trip, please book directly with the Clear Creek Rafting Company ( Sign up for the Beginner Trip at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 17th. Please put down "ICEENN" in the Company Name space on the reservation form.

The hike will be an easy, downhill jaunt down Gregory Gulch on Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder, approximately 1.5 hours long. Hikers have the opportunity to take other challenging trails in the area, and we will meet for refreshments at the Chautauqua Dining Hall at the hiking trail terminus before returning to Golden.
